Ardbeg’s Spectacular release marks the first time the distillery has matured its oily and heavily peated single malt in port casks. These rare port casks were used alongside ex-bourbon barrels, imparting aromas of praline, vetiver, lavender buds and toffee apple on the nose, complemented by notes of eucalyptus, mint choc chip, mossy peat smoke and worn leather. A real treat for Islay whisky fans.

Nose: Perfumed and aromatic, with notes of lavender followed by leather, woodsmoke, mint and an almond nuttiness.
Palate: Full and oily with a salty menthol freshness and woodsmoke with sweeter notes of toffee, apple crumble and fudge.
Finish: Long and lingering with leather, salted caramel and that minty note persisting.
