Foursquare Covenant 18 Years Old Exceptional Cask Selection Rum 70cl
A single blend of column and pot still rum matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks in the tropical climate of Barbados, this is every bit as full and complex as one would hope. Initially matured for 10 years, the rum was then vatted to a single batch before being re-casked for a further eight years of maturation. As always in the Exceptional Cask series, the rum was bottled without added colouring or sweetener.

Joining Foursquare’s ever-impressive Exceptional Cask Selection Series, at 18 years old, Covenant is the Barbadian distillery’s oldest official release to date. This single blended rum combines a selection of heavy and light marks distilled in 2004 and 2005 in Foursquare’s double retort pot-still and its continuous twin column stills before maturing in American white oak bourbon barrels. Bottled at a robust 58%, without added colour or chill filtration, it’s no understatement to say that this is an absolute stunner.
