Inspired by the Hogmanay custom of ‘first footing’, in which the first person to enter your home during the new year brings good fortune. The ‘first footer’ is expected to bring gifts: traditionally shortbread, whisky and coal for the fire. For the second release Macallan selected the finest of American and European sherry-seasoned oak casks, as well as American ex-bourbon barrels that delivers character.
