Claxtons Grain Barn 30 Years Old Single Grain Whisky is a single malt whisky. It comes from Claxtons, the Yorkshire-based independent bottler releasing single casks at natural strength.
This release was bottled at 48%, at natural colour.
Nose: Cask-strength intensity, honey and inviting depth.
Palate: Orchard fruit, joined by malt depth, building in intensity.
Finish: Long and layered, closing on oak spice.
Pour it slowly, add a drop of water if you like, and give it time in the glass. Collector’s note: whiskies of this age are only growing scarcer. A strong candidate for the cabinet as much as the glass.
