Kavalan Consertmaster Sherry Cask Finish is a Taiwanese single malt whisky. It comes from Kavalan, Taiwan’s trailblazing distillery, whose subtropical climate matures whisky at remarkable speed to world-beating quality. This expression is matured in sherry-seasoned oak for extra richness of dried fruit and spice. Notes of coconut, soft oak and tropical mango and papaya run through to a satisfying finish. Best savoured neat, though a single cube of ice softens it nicely. A newer name doing things its own way, and winning admirers fast. With time and a drop of water, vanilla cream comes to the fore. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate or a plate of aged cheese.
