Laphroaig 30 Years Old Wooden Box is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky. It comes from Laphroaig, the most uncompromising of Islay distilleries, whose intensely smoky, medicinal malts inspire devotion worldwide.

This release is bottled at 43%.

Nose: Bold peat smoke, sweet vanilla undertones and inviting depth.
Palate: Sea salt, joined by tar and ash, building in intensity.
Finish: Long and layered, closing on a surprising sweetness at the core.

Pour it slowly, add a drop of water if you like, and give it time in the glass. Collector’s note: whiskies of this age are only growing scarcer. A strong candidate for the cabinet as much as the glass.
